Recovery cases spread optimism in Pakistan

Amid the general chaos due to the pandemic preying upon people’s lives around the world, Lahore, Mianwali, Mardan and Rahim Yar Khan have provided some optimism for the crises-hit Pakistan.

As many as 55 out of 59 prisoners in Lahore’s Camp Jail defeated the coronavirus. Yesterday, seven more prisoners tested positive after which just four corona patients are left, yet to check out from the temporary hospital at Camp Jail Lahore. The blood specimens of the remaining four have also been dispatched to the laboratory.

In addition, five of the ten prisoners who were shifted from Hafizabad, Gujranwala and Jhelum also tested negative for the virus, while the blood specimens for the remaining five have also been sent to the laboratory.

Meanwhile, Mianwali and Rahim Yar Khan too reflected the optimism as 17 people recovered from the coronavirus in both cities, including 14 in Mianwali, after which the recovered patients were discharged from the hospitals.

In Rahim Yar Khan, 995 suspected corona patients tested negative, all of them. Now the results of only 100 suspected patients are awaited. In addition, of 811 suspected patients of Tableeghi Jamat, 644 have tested negative, while the results of 173 suspected patients are awaited.

Similarly, coronavirus tests of eight foreigners belonging to Tableeghi Jamaat came negative in Mardan.

Foreign preachers belonging to Tableeghi Jamaat were being quarantined at Mardan Tableeghi Centre. The corona test of members of Tableeghi Jamaat came out negative after spending the required time in the quarantine.

The Tableeghi Jamaat members were sent to Islamabad Thursday night from where they will leave for their respective countries.

Cases in Shangla

Coronavirus has been confirmed in six more people in Shangla sub-division Puran.

Fear and panic being observed within the local population and there is hardly any rush in markets and business centres.

The number of people infected with the coronavirus has now risen to 19 in Puran whereas many people are placed in quarantine centres.
