A fire that broke out at an electronics factory in the Walton area of Lahore on Saturday morning was brought under control after efforts of more than three hours, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Rescue officials reached the site of the incident situated at Ferozepur Road while the firefighters were busy extinguishing the blaze and doused it after a three and half hour operation.
According to details, the fire started at the assembly line of the PEL electronics factory. How the fire was started has yet to be ascertained.
All the labourers at the factory were safely rescued as the blaze has spread over an acre of the land.
Goods worth millions were reduced to ashes in the fire as the Lahore commissioner has set up a committee to probe the fire incident.
CM Buzdar takes notice
Taking notice of the incident, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has ordered firefighting units, Rescue 1122 and other concerned departments to speed up their efforts to douse the fire at the electronics factory.
He has directed the local administration to reach the site of the incident and inspect the rescue and relief activities.
Buzdar has urged the concerned departments to utilize all available resources to put out the fire.
Meanwhile, CCPO Lahore has also directed the police force to help in the rescue efforts.
He has directed the concerned officials that rescue work should go on non-stop.
