A session court on Saturday partially recorded the cross examination of make-up artist and rights activist Leena Ghani in a Rs100 million defamation suit filed by singer-actor Ali Zafar against singer Meesha Shafi. Ms Ghani appeared in the case as a witness of Ms Meesha Shafi.
The plaintiff’s lawyers confronted Leena Ghani with her tweets against men, private chats and pictures with Ali Zafar after the three alleged incidents of the harassment.
Ghani said that she volunteered as an organiser of Aurat March for the years 2018 to 2021, adding that it is correct that donations are collected by the organizers of the Aurat March.
The witness was confronted with her tweets which she admitted and they are made part of the court record.
Leena Ghani was also confronted with her pictures with Ali Zafar and they were also made part of the court record.
However, Ghani said: “It is incorrect to say that I am a man hater because I was divorced lady and it is incorrect to suggest that I made these above mentioned tweets because I hate men.”
The cross-examination of the witness was in progress when Additional District & Sessions Judge Azhar Iqbal Ranjha adjourned further hearing till May 22, 2021.
