The National Electricity Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has allowed the Punjab government to establish its own grid company, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Sources said that NEPRA has granted the project of establishing a grid company on the request of Punjab government.
The grid company will work on the pattern of National Transmission and Dispatch Company.
Furthermore, with the approval of NEPRA the Punjab grid company could also install its own poles.
The grid company will work out of Water and Power Development Authority’s (WAPDA) domain.
