A female dacoit, who had committed over 50 robberies in Shahdara area of Lahore, was arrested along with her husband on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Police said the suspects namely Momina and Aqeel would rob passersby of their valuables after stopping them to ask about routes.
Police informed that Rs0.3 million in cash, two pistols, 12 cellphones and a motorcycle were also recovered from the couple.
In a CCTV camera footage, the woman can be seen looting people at gunpoint and then concealing the weapon as well as the looted valuables in her purse, fearing she might get arrested.
SHO Shahdara Mian Tehseen Najam said that a criminal, however crook and cunning, could not evade arrest. “Cases have been registered against both husband and wife and they are being interrogated,” he said.
On the other hand, SP City Captain (r) Qazi Ali Raza eulogized the SHO and other police personnel who made the arrest of street criminals possible.
