Two dead in Mirpur passenger bus-car collision

A car and a passenger bus collided in the Jarai area of Mirpur in Azad Kashmir, resulting in the killing of two people and injuries to 17 others on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The passenger bus fell off the bridge after the collision. Rescue teams reached the spot and carried out operations and shifted the injured to hospital.

Separately, around 35 people including men, women and children sustained injuries as Karachi-Bajaur bus plunged into a ditch near Tarakai area in tehsil Timergara of district Lower Dir.

Many people are in critical condition as the bus plunged into the ditch. Rescue teams reached the site and rescued people. The injured have been shifted to the Timergara DHQ Hospital.

The TV channel reported that the bus driver lost control of the bus and subsequently the vehicle plunged into the ditch. 

Rescue 1122 officials said 35 people were injured in the accident, including men, women and children. As soon as the control room was informed about the incident the medical and rescue disaster counter team reached the spot. 

A medical team reached the spot on time and gave first aid to the patients and shifted them to District Headquarters Hospital, Timergara, Rescue 1122 officials said.
