Nomination papers of Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for Lahore constituency NA-127 have been submitted, reported 24NewHD TV channel on Sunday.
PPP leader Syed Qasim Gilani submitted nomination papers on behalf of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Earlier, PPP chairman and former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari submitted his nomination papers from NA-196 constituency in Shahdadkot.
The PPP chairman arrived in Shahdadot on Sunday to submit his nomination papers to the office of Returning Officer Mohsin Sheikh.
NA-196 constituency has been ancestral constituency of the Bhutto family. Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto also contested elections from the same constituency.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari ichanged his decision to contest the next general elections, scheduled to be held on February 8, 2024, from NA-128, Lahore after differences of opinion emerged within the party over his plan to contest the election from the constituency.
Credible sources told 24NewsHD that it had been conveyed to Bilawal that NA-128 had never been a favourable constituency for the PPP; hence it would be better if he contested from NA-127, Lahore instead.
NA-127 covers the areas of Liaqatabad, Model Town Ext (Q, R and S blocks), Pindi Rajputan, Ismail Nagar, Kot Lakhpat, Chungi Amar Sadhu, Teharta Pind, Bagrian, Green Town, Township, Maryam Colony, Sitara Colony , Wafaqi Colony and Farid Colony.
So, later in the evening today, the PPP chairman submitted his nomination papers for NA 127.
