The situation turned ugly outside the office of the returning officer (RO) in PP-57, Narowal when an exchange of hot words took place between PML-N’s Khawaja Waseem Butt and ex-PTI leader Sajjad Mehas right at a time when the candidates were filing their nomination papers on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The verbal clash took place when Butt, who had come to the RO’s office to file his nomination papers, came face to face with Mehas.
Later, workers from both the PML-N and the PTI also joined in and resorted to sloganeering.
On seeing that the situation was getting worse, other people present on the occasion intervened and calmed down the tempers that were running high.
