The Lahore High Court (LHC) has announced that its diary branches in Lahore and Multan will remain open on Sunday and December 25, despite the holidays, to hear election petitions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Saturday.

The decision was taken by Chief Justice Muhammad Amir Bhatti to facilitate the candidates who are facing problems and obstacles in the submission of nomination papers for the upcoming general elections.

The LHC has also allowed the candidates to file their applications related to the Rawalpindi Bench at the Lahore Principal Seat, and those related to the Bahawalpur Bench at the Multan District Branch.

Senior Judge Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar will preside over the hearings in the Multan Bench today, tomorrow and Sunday.

The staff of the diary branches will be present during office hours on both days, according to a notification issued by the LHC.
