Cold wave continues to grip most parts of country, fog in plain areas, M4 closed

Various areas of the country continue to be gripped by a prevailing cold wave with mercury falling below zero degrees Celsius in multiple locations while fog to remain in some plain areas of Upper Sindh and Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Due to thick fog, motorway M4 has been closed for traffic from Lahore to Khanewal district. According to spokesperson, Motorways has been closed for the safety of the passengers. The spokesperson had advised public to avoid travelling during fog season. 

According to met office, weather to remain chilly and fogy in Islamabad and adjoining areas during the next twenty-four hours. 

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, weather is likely to remain cold and dry in most of the districts, while it is likely to be very cold in the morning and night hours in the hilly areas. In the morning, fog is expected in Abbottabad, Mansehra, Swabi, Mardan, Peshawar, Nowshera and Kohat areas. 

The weather will remain cold and dry in most of the districts of Punjab province with a chance of fog. Sialkot, Narwal, Gujranwala, Mangala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sargodha, Okara, Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, DG Khan and surrounding areas will remain in the grip of smog. Likewise, cold and chilly weather to persist in Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, areas of Balochistan and Sindh.
