IG Islamabad issues notices to 11 accused for false propaganda

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad has issued notices to 11 accused for spreading false propaganda on social media, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to sources, notices were issued to accused Sibghatullah Virk, Muhammad Arshad, Atta-ur-Rehman, Azhar Mashwani, Aroosa Nadeem Shah, Muhammad Ali Malik, Shahzeb Virk, Musa Virk, Ikram Kathana, Taqweem Siddique and Muhammad Noman Afzal.
In the notice, the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has summoned the accused on December 24, sources said.
Sources further said that these accused spread chaos in Pakistan through false propaganda on social media.
The federal government has formed a joint investigation team under the IG Police under Section 30 of the Social Media Crimes Prevention Act, 2016.
The JIT is investigating the matter to determine the motives behind the accused and their associates, sources said.
Sources said more criminals are being identified and action is being taken against them under applicable laws. The JIT also has solid evidence against the accused.
