Pakistan's local mobile phone manufacturing has declined by 8 percent in November 2024 compared to November 2023, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

In this regard, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has released report.

According to report, mobile phone manufacturing declines by 35 percent in November 2024 compared to October 2024.

Locally manufactured mobile phones stood at 2.31 million units in November 2024 while mobile companies manufactured 3.53 million units in October 24, PTA report said.

Mobile manufacturing hit a 7-month high in October 2024, report said.

Local mobile manufacturing increased by 57 percent in 11 months of 2024 to 28.43 million units. The increase in local mobile phone manufacturing was due to the ban on imports, report said.

In 11 months of 2024, 17 million smartphones were manufactured out of 28.4 million, report said.

Report further said 11.4 million 2-G phones were manufactured in 11 months of 2024.

Demand for mobile phones will reach 32.9 million units by the end of 2024.

Airlink Communication, Tecno and Xiami were the most sold in 2024.
