The newly-elected members of the Sindh Assembly will take oath tomorrow (February 24at 11 am.
Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Khan Durrani will administer the oath to 151 newly-elected members.
The oath will be administered in three languages – Sindhi, Urdu and English.
The PPP and MQM members will take oaths, while 13 members from three parties announced a boycott.
Eight members from GDA, three PTI-backed members and two from Jamaat-e-Islami will not take the oath.
The GDA and its allies announced staging a protest outside the Sindh Assembly against election manipulation tomorrow.
“Five parties will stage a protest in front of the Sindh Assembly,” Safdar told the media after a meeting among GDA, PTI, JI and JUI.
Flanked by leaders of other allied parties, Safdar said after deliberations, everyone decided to stage the protest. He added: “It was the most rigged election in history. We are not ready to accept these elections.
JI leader Hafiz Naeem said the PPP and MQM went for seat adjustments in Sindh while we opted for protest. Only PTI and JI got votes in Karachi, he claimed.
Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori convened the assembly session. After the oath-taking, the schedule for the election of the speaker and deputy speaker of the assembly will be announced.
