The Sindh High Court has disposed of Senator Faisal Vawda’s case after the withdrawal of the petition challenging the election commission’s proceedings against his dual nationality, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Sindh High Court held a hearing on the petition filed by Senator Vawda’s against the election commission’s inquiry into senator’s dual nationality which he had concealed at the time of submitting his nomination papers on June 11, 2018 to the election commission.
The counsel for the petitioner told the court that his client wanted to withdraw his petition. He stated that the ECP was not holding proceedings as per the law.
It is pertinent to mention here that Islamabad High Court in its verdict held Senator Vawda responsible for submitting a false affidavit and asked the ECP to proceed against him under Article 62 (1) )f) o the Constitution. In December, the ECP reserved its judgement on petitions seeking disqualification of the senator.
