Lahore is still facing extremely cold weather conditions combined with dense fog which has dangerously reduced the visibility level thus making road authorities shut several sections of motorways, reporter 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The minimum temperature in the Punjab capital was recorded at 5°C in the morning. The maximum temperature would remain at 16°C.
Motorways closed
The various sections of motorways which were closed due to thick fog across the country were included:
M1 from Peshawar to Islamabad, M2 from Islamabad to Kot Momin, M3, M4, M5 from Gaddu to Sukkur and from Multan to Rahim Yar Khan, M11 from Lahore to Sialkot, Swat Expressway from Colonel Sher Khan to Chak Dara, Hazara Motorway from Burhan to Shah Maqsood, and M14 from Hakla to Yark,

Dense fog/smog is likely to persist in Islamabad, plain areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh. Very cold weather is likely in aforesaid areas due to dense fog.
