Two notorious dacoits killed in Burewala police encounter

Two notorious dacoits wanted by police were killed during an encounter in the jurisdiction of Fateh Shah Police Station in Burewala, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to details, a 15 police squad was on its routine patrolling when it received a call regarding robbery attempt. They rushed to the spot and intercepted the fleeing dacoits near Chathha Mile.

After noticing police, the dacoits opened fire on them which caused partial damage to the police patrol vehicle.

In retaliation the police team also started firing and during the heavy exchange of firing two dacoits were killed by their own colleagues.

Police recovered looted cash amounting to Rs145,000 and other valuables from the custody of the slain dacoits.

The dead dacoits were later identified as Asif who belonged to Lahore and Ilyas from Kasur.

Both dacoits were wanted by the police in 45 cases registered against them in Multan and Vehari where they were declared as proclaimed offenders in five cases.

Further investigation was underway.
