Ertugrul lead actor Engin Altan raises donations for cancer charity as birthday gift

Turkish actor Engin Altan Düzyatan, who played the lead role in Diriliş: Ertuğrul, has been riding high and is basking in fame and glory especially in Pakistan after his hit series swept all over the country.

Engin who is more known as Ertugrul to his fans has turned to Instagram Friday to ask friends to celebrate his birthday by donating to Turkish Cancer Society.

“This year, for my birthday I started a donation campaign with Turkish Cancer Society.

I would like my beloved ones and relatives donate for hope to cancer patients who need support instead of buying presents to me.

The campaign will continue until my birthday, 26th July.

He also placed a link on his Instagram account where the fans can pay the donations as birthday gift to Turkish star.

And fans did not disappoint as within a few minutes there were about 2000 Turkish liras already donated for the noble cause.

Düzyatan was born on 26 July 1979 in Karşıyaka, İzmir, Turkey. Engin Altan Düzyatan began acting during his high school days. According to him, his family were Turkish migrants from Yugoslavia. He joined Dokuz Eylül University to study theatre. He completed his course and moved to Istanbul where he started his professional acting career.

On 28 August 2014, he married the granddaughter of Selim Soydan and Hülya Koçyiğit, Neslişah Alkoçlar. The couple had a son, Emir Aras (born 2016) and a daughter, Alara (born 2018).

He made his screen debut in the television series Ruhsar and went on to appear in Yeditepe İstanbul, Koçum Benim and Alacakaranlık.

In 2005, he acted in the films Beyza'nın Kadınları directed by Mustafa Altıoklar and Kalbin Zamanı.

In 2007, Düzyatan appeared in the series Sevgili Dünürüm with Haluk Bilginer, Sumru Yavrucuk and Nevra Serezli. His next roles were in the films Cennet (2008) and Mezuniyet (2009).

In 2009, he played Doctor Serdar Batur in the series Bir Bulut Olsam with Melisa Sözen and Engin Akyürek, written by Meral Okay.

Düzyatan acted in the films Romantik Komedi, New York'ta Beş Minare and Bir Avuç Deniz in 2010.

He hosted the game show Canlı Para which is the Turkish version of The Million Pound Drop Live on Show TV in 2010 and 2011.

In 2014, he appeared in the series Cinayet with Nurgül Yeşilçay, Uğur Polat, Şükran Ovalı, Ahmet Mümtaz Taylan and Goncagül Sunar.

From 2014 until 2019, he has starred in the TV series named Diriliş: Ertuğrul in its namesake leading role on TRT 1.

He is also featured in 2020 The Muslim 500 Publication as one of the most influential Muslims.[9]

Earlier, the same gesture was shown by another Ertugrul actress Burcu Kiratli who showed her soft-hearted nature when she made a passionate an appeal to her family, friends and followers on her Instagram handle and told them to donate to a charity working for less-privileged children as her birthday gift.

Interestingly, Burcu played the role of Gokce Hatun who had a crush on Ertugrul and wanted desperately to marry her but only Halime Sultan’s arrival disturbed her plans and left her with a sour taste whose jealousy created a lot of troubles for Ertugrul.
