Prime Minister Imran Khan telephoned Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and discussed issues including anti-polio measures, corona situation and steps to be taken to contain the further spread of both viruses, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Prime Minister appreciated the Bill Gates Foundation's economic development initiatives for the people and for Gates Foundation's cooperation in the eradication of polio.
Imran Khan said that eradication of polio is one of our priorities as anti-polio campaign was also in full swing despite the corona pandemic.
PM Khan said that 33 million children had been administered anti-polio vaccine this year.
Bill Gates expressed his appreciation for the Prime Minister’s leadership for this national cause. Mr. Gates added that while progress is encouraging, keeping up pressure will be the key to ending transmission for good.
