Heroic Pakistan Army Public School (APS) Peshawar survivor Ahmad Nawaz has assumed his duties as the President of the Oxford Union.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, he was elected for the post in March this year. Pakistan’s assassinated former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has also been the president of this union in the 20th century.
Ahmed Nawaz, who was injured in the APS Peshawar tragedy, had moved to the UK in 2014. His younger brother was martyred in the terror attack at the school in Peshawar.
Newly elected Pakistan-born President of Oxford Union Ahmad Nawaz in his tweet has said that he is immensely proud to have finally assumed his duties.
He tweeted, “In my time as President, I look forward to having world leaders debate the most pressing issues, empowering young people through this platform & upholding freedom of speech.”
