80pc of Kacha Area cleared of outlaws: CM

Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said 80 per cent of the Kacha Area has been cleared of miscreants and outlaws, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported late Friday.

The measures adopted to maintain law and order are bearing fruit, the chief minister said while addressing a press conference in Lahore.

He heaped praise on the police for establishing the writ of the state. He said the government will leave no stone unturned to provide relief to the people.

He added: “A couple of groups are left. Action is being taken against them. The police are fighting the robbers bravely in the Kacha operation.

” The CM said schools and dispensaries will be built in the area.,

He said he has been working for public welfare as it is his duty.  Poor condition of health facilities has a history, he said stressing that he doesn’t want to blame anyone.

Earlier in the day, he paid a visit to the Kacha area where he reviewed the operation and had a meeting with the police to boost their morale.

The chief minister paid tribute to the lawmen for braving the challenges. 

Also, the chief minister visited Jamia Ashrafiya and met the noted figure Hafiz Fazlur Rahim Ashrafi.

Information Minister Aamir Mir accompanied him. Hafiz Asad Obaid, Hafiz Khalid and others also participated in the meeting

Mohsin Naqvi visited various departments of the Jamia and he was briefed on its working and services.  

A documentary based on the history and religious services of the Jamia was also shown.

He was presented with an honorary shield and books too. The CM said the religious services of the Jamia are commendable. CM Naqvi's efforts bore fruit as the Lahore bridge extension project that was pending for three years is completed in a few months.

He paid a visit to the site and praised the quality of the work.  The project hit snags due to issues between Lesco and the Railways.
