CM Naqvi boosts morale of police jawans fighting Kacha dacoits

Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi Friday paid a visit to Kacha area where he inspected the progress in the operation against the dacoits and also met the police officers and jawans participating in the operation to boost their morale, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Punjab inspector general of police (IGP) briefed the chief minister about the successes in the ongoing operation in Kacha area.

The chief minister, IGP and other senior police officers also had lunch with police jawans. Mohsin Naqvi also visited the police post, dispensary and school in Kacha area.

The chief minister appreciated the spirit of police jawans for carrying out the operation in extreme heat.

“I’ve come to Kacha area to boost the morale of the police officers and jawans participating in the operation in extreme heat. The operation is going on successfully in Kacha area, and the police have cleared most of the area from dacoits,” the chief minister said.

“The nation is proud of the brave sons of Punjab police who performed their duties with courage on every occasion. We salute the bravery and spirit of the police officers and jawans participating in the operation,” he added.

“Establishing sustainable peace in Kacha area is the first priority. Development and prosperity in the region are linked to peace. Permanent infrastructure is being established by destroying the hideouts of dacoits. They will not be allowed to thrive in the area again,” he stated.

Also, the chief minister inspected cotton cultivation in southern Punjab and expressed satisfaction on the increase in the cultivated area.

He appreciated the efforts of the Agriculture Department, administration and the field staff, stating that $3 billion would be earned through cotton cultivation.

“Cotton has been cultivated on a large scale in Punjab. The administration of southern Punjab has worked tirelessly for cotton cultivation,” he added.

“A target of cotton cultivation over 5 million acres of land had been set in the province, 96 percent of the target has been achieved,” he said.

“A total of 4345,000 acres of cotton has been cultivated in southern Punjab,” the additional chief secretary briefed the chief minister.
