Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has appreciated the Jinnah Hospital/Allama Iqbal Medical College Board of Management chairman Gohar Ejaz’s services to humanity, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
He said Gohar Ejaz is always at the forefront in the service of suffering humanity if every hospital gets a gem like him, the situation will change completely.
He was speaking at a ceremony regarding the completion of the 4-year term of Jinnah Hospital/Allama Iqbal Medical College Board of Management held here on Friday.
The Chief Minister said that the faculty of Jinnah Hospital is rendering excellent services.
Mohsin Navi stressed the need to improve cardiovascular treatment facilities at the Jinnah Hospital.
Speaking on the occasion, Gohar Ejaz said at least 1.47 million patients were treated in one year. “From the Rs 7 billion budget, services of Rs 18 billion were provided to the patients according to the market rate,” he added.
He said they provide services of one and a half billion rupees at the market rate in the field of gynecology. They are providing services worth billions of rupees in every sector, Gohar Ejaz added.
“Dialysis services worth Rs 430 million are being provided while 4.14 billion worth of services have been given in radiology. The hospital offered services worth Rs1 billion rupees to the people needing emergency aid. We are providing annual services of 2.5 billion rupees to the patients visiting OPD, Gohar Ejaz elaborated.
The APTMA patron-in-chief Gohar Ejaz revealed that according to the rates of expensive hospitals, the services are worth 36 billion.
“The foundation is giving free medicines for heart, sugar, blood pressure, and cancer patients.”
Gohar Ejaz apprised the audience that four modern modular operation theaters were built with an Rs400 million donation.
“Kidney transplant center with modern operation theaters is in the process of completion in which Gohar Foundation will provide the facility of three free kidney transplants daily”, he added.
He further told the participants that Jinnah Hospital was connected to a fully computerized system.
“The process of connecting the hospital with the IT system was completed with a donation of Rs 250 million.”
Gohar Ejaz Foundation is spending one billion rupees annually in Jinnah Hospital, he disclosed.
He said that the renovation work of Skill Lab and Girls Hostel has been completed.
Dr. Javed Akram, the caretaker health minister said that Jinnah Hospital has the best board.
