A man and his son were killed after they were buried underneath rubble while cleaning a well at Bhawana in Chiniot on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Their bodies could not be retrieved even after the passage of 24 hours.
Umar Hayat, one of the rescuers, also lost his life when bricks fell on him.
To make matters worse, both the deputy commissioner and DPO Chiniot did not reach the site to console the families of the dead.
Seeing indifference on the part of the administration, families of the deceased blocked the Chiniot-Jhang road for all kinds of traffic to register their protest.
The protestors shouted slogans against the administration and said it left their loved ones to die.
They appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take notice of the incident and send heavy machinery to the area so that the bodies of those buried could be retrieved.
