Govt sending 1,000 agricultural graduates to China for training: PM Shehbaz

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan farmers are hardworking and very capable and with the provision of best seeds, fertilizers and quality medicines, Pakistan can bring about an agricultural revolution, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. 

Addressing a meeting in Islamabad, Prime Minister said if a suitable environment is provided to the youth, then Pakistan's development is possible. He said Pakistan wanted partnership with the Republic of Korea in various sectors. 

PM Shehbaz lamented that, “We have not been able to sign any agreement on cotton production during the last 20 to 25 years”. Prime Minister said Republic of Korea is a country with a strong economy and now a wonderful project for the production of potato seeds has been launched with the cooperation of the Republic of Korea. 

PM Shehbaz said the government was sending 1,000 agricultural graduates to China for training. He lamented today that, “country’s cotton production is very low. We are importing cotton worth billions of dollars”.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said, “65 percent of our population in villages and attacked to agriculture. He promised that agriculture graduates will be provided with a conducive environment to work in the agricultural sector. The Prime Minister said new avenues will be provided to farmers with quality seeds with the best productivity. 

Prime Minister said, “We have to increase the share of agriculture in the country's economy.” Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said, “If we move forward with hard work and dedication, we will be second to none in the region”. 

The PM said focus should be given to local manufacturing of agricultural machinery including combined harvesters. He said Pakistan has to increase the per acre production of cotton, sugarcane and other crops. It is necessary to organize the storage and transportation of vegetables and fruits.
