PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Amir Muqam has been tested positive for coronavirus, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Amir Muqam has put himself in quarantine at his residence in Islamabad after his coronavirus test came positive. He appealed the public, party workers, supporters and friends to pray for his early recovery.
Reacting to the news, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif expressed regrets over Amir Muqam's contracting coronavirus test. He said Air Muqan is an active and vibrant PML-N personality in KP and he prayed for his early recovery. He also paid tribute to Muqam's services for the party.
Amir Muqam’s test came positive a day after two Punjab ministers contracted the Covid-19.
Punjab Minister for Literacy and Informal Education Raja Rashid Hafeez announced on Saturday that he had quarantined himself at home after testing positive for coronavirus.
In a video message, Raja Rashid said that all people who have been in contact with him should get tested and go into isolation. He appealed to people to pray for his speedy recovery.
As the number of coronavirus cases is increasing rapidly in the country, ministers and other high-profile people are falling prey to the deadly virus.
Earlier on Saturday, Punjab Energy Minister Dr Akhtar Malik announced he had quarantined himself at his home after testing positive for Covid-19.
According to a Punjab government spokesperson, the test reports of the minister’s family members will be available later in the day and the minister will keep his well-wishers informed through his social media accounts. The energy minister has appealed to his well-wishers to pray for his speedy recovery.
