Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that India is busy in conspiracies against Pakistan and China.
In an informal talk with a news channel on Eid-ul-Fitr, General Bajwa said the Pakistan Army is a disciplined institution with an effective system of accountability. He said that strict action has been taken against an army officer and his wife after a video of the woman’s mistreatment of a policeman went viral on the internet.
Answering a question about the issues facing Pakistan, the army chief said that Pakistan’s progress, prosperity and future lies only in democracy. Despite problems, he said, solution of problems lies in democracy and the democratic system. He said there was a need to strengthen the institutions.
General Bajwa said that Indian-Occupied Kashmir is a disputed territory and Pakistan would retaliate to attempts to change Kashmir’s status as a disputed territory. He said that India is targeting innocent civilians in Azad Kashmir along the Line of Control (LoC). He said that India is trying to divert the world’s attention from the humanitarian crisis caused by the world’s longest curfew in Indian-occupied Kashmir. He said that Kashmiris’ struggle for the right to self-determination is destined to succeed.
The top Pakistani commander said that every soldier matters for the Pakistan Army. He said that faith, unity and discipline are the culture of the Pakistan Army. He said that every soldier and officer of the Pakistan is defending Pakistan without any discrimination of creed or colour. He said the Pakistan Army had done a historic act on February 27, 2019. He said that only God can reward a martyr. He said that Islam teaches tolerance and kindness to its followers. He said there is no forgiveness for those in Islam who do not fulfil their duties towards human beings.
The Pakistan Army chief said defending borders was one of the most sacred of all duties. He said that God has promised the highest of all ranks for the martyrs and those who survive are rewarded as Ghazis. He said the Pakistan Army has always done its duty in catastrophes like floods, earthquake and coronavirus pandemic. He said that coronavirus pandemic has exposed several weaknesses in the system. He said the Pakistan Army took extraordinary care for safety against coronavirus. He said that Islam spread though love and preaching.
