Severe clashes have been reported in Rainawari, Eidgah and Hawal areas of Srinagar on Sunday after the news of the death of an elderly man spread.
An elderly man injured in a house collapse at Srinagar gunfight site in Indian-occupied Kashmir earlier this week succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, a medical official said.
Dr Nazir Choudhary, medical superintendent of Shri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital, identified the deceased as Manzoor Ahmad Khan, 65, of Masheli Mohalla, Hawal, Srinagar. "He succumbed to his injuries this morning,” Choudhary said.
Three days ago, a 12-year-old boy from Srinagar also died after sustaining injuries at the same site.
Severe clashes have been reported in several areas of Srinagar on Sunday after the news of the death of the elderly man spread.
On May 19, in a 12-hour fierce gunfight between freedom-fighters and Indian security forces, two fighters, including Junaid Sehrai, divisional commander of Hizbul Mujhahideen, were killed.
In the gun battle, around 15 residential houses got damaged at Nawakadal area of the city.
