Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Asim Munir presided over the 82nd Formation Commanders Conference at the General Headquarters on Thursday, the ISPR stated.
Corps Commanders, Principal Staff Officers and all Formation Commanders of the Pakistan Army attended the meeting, it said, adding that the moot mulled over ongoing counter-terrorism operations and reiterated the resolve to root out terrorism. The conference paid rich tribute to the martyrs.
According to the military media wing, the COAS expressed satisfaction with the operational preparedness and high standards of training and morale maintained by formations to cope with the challenges.
The conference expressed solidarity with Palestinians and reiterated all-out support for the just cause. It expressed unequivocal diplomatic, moral and political support to the people of Palestine and Pakistan’s principled stance of supporting the two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders with Al Quds Al Sharif as the capital of Palestine.
Feeling strong concerns for Kashmiris fighting for their just right to self-determination, the conference condemned the Indian cruelties in the illegally occupied Valley.
Pakistan will continue supporting Kashmiris politically, diplomatically and morally, the forum stressed, adding that the only solution to Kashmir is providing the people of Kashmir with their right to self-determination according to UNSC resolutions.
The conference resolved to continue backing the government's initiatives for sustainable recovery of the economy and curbing crimes like smuggling, hoarding, power pilferage etc.
It emphasized the backing of the implementation of the government’s One Document Regime policy and the repatriation of illegal foreigners.
The forum noted that despite challenges, recent months have witnessed an increasing sense of stability, certainty and optimism across Pakistan and resolved that vested efforts towards engineering despondency will be defeated through perseverance and continued positive actions, with the support of the people of Pakistan.
The participants affirmed that the Pakistan Army will continue defending and serving the nation in every possible way; in the journey towards enduring stability and security. The forum urged the proud people of Pakistan to stay determined and united.
