Popular Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui has publicly condemned Bollywood's T-Series for releasing a remix of the iconic song "Akhiyaan De Kol," originally sung by legendary Pakistani artist Reshma.

The new version is part of the soundtrack for the upcoming film Do Patti.

Adnan Siddiqui took to 'X' (formerly Twitter) and expressed his discontent with the remake saying, “Imitation can be flattering, but not when it means tearing apart a classic by a legend. Please show some respect for Reshma Jee and the legacy she left behind.”

He emphasized that Reshma's music deserves to be treated with dignity and should not be reduced to “just another sordid rip-off.”

The remix has faced significant backlash from social media users, who also flooded the YouTube comment section with criticisms.

One user remarked, “Stop stealing Pakistani songs,” while another stated, “Seriously!! They’ve ruined one of the best songs.” A third user added, “Reshma Jee would have never imagined her song being portrayed this way.”

Reshma, renowned for her soulful voice, sang many popular songs including Dama Dam Mast Kalandar and Lambi Judai.

Her original composition of Akhiyaan De Kol, penned by Sehrai Gurdas Puri, has been celebrated over the years, including a notable rendition by Lata Mangeshkar for Raj Kapoor's 1973 film Bobby.
