People affected by housing societies have called upon National Accountability Bureau Chairman Javed Iqbal at the bureau headquarters in Islamabad.

According to a press release on Thursday, the NAB chief issued directives to get the affected people’s grievances redressed in accordance with the law.

Talking to them, the chairman reiterated NAB resolve to continue the campaign to eliminate corruption.

Curbing corruption is the top priority of the bureau, he said, adding that his team has been utilising all resources to provide the affected people with relief following the law of land.

The complainants commended the bureau chief for leading the campaign against corruption.

Reports said in March, NAB launched a probe into the affairs of three housing schemes of Lahore for defrauding the general public.

It acted upon after receiving complaints against the Punjab Cooperative Housing Society Ghazi Road, Cantonment, NFC Employees Cooperative Housing Society Phase-II near Sattukatla and Asia Town Gwadar (Asia Acre Scheme Ali Green Group) in Punjab capital.

Managers of such societies looted people in the name of booking for plots and houses, registration certificate and membership forms.
