Prime Minister Imran Khan in a series of tweet on Saturday on the eve of 24th foundation day of PTI paid tributes to the party’s founding members.
Imran said, “24 years ago today, PTI embarked on our mission of achieving our Quaid Jinnah's vision for Pakistan as a modern Islamic welfare state.”
“To achieve this we had to achieve the following: 1. Rule of Law where all are equal before the law & the powerful are brought under the law.”
Imran explained how he struggled in breaking the stranglehold of elite capture of the state.
“Break the stranglehold of the elite capture of our state & of our nation's resources; & [and] redistribute these resources more equitably in order to lift our poor out of poverty. Ours has been a long & arduous struggle - more than any other political party.”
The prime minister said, “Today I want to remember our founding members who are not with us anymore - Naeemul Haq, Ahsan Rasheed and Saloni Bokhari.”
Separately, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in a video message posted on Facebook said the PTI-led government was determined to build a corruption-free society in the country.

He expressed best wishes to all party leaders and workers on completion of 24th foundation day of PTI.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry said, “What a splendid journey of 24 years, want to congratulate Imran Khan only he could have managed to break [the] two-party system a gigantic task in itself.... best wishes and prayers for every member of #PTI stay strong under the leadership of Imran Khan.”

Special Assistant to the PM for Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari said it took a whole generation’s struggle to change established beliefs of a nation and a strong leader to change mindsets of that generation.
Minister of State for Safron and Narcotics Control Shehryar Afridi said, “Imran khan 24 years ago set the foundations of this movement we know as PTI today. He voiced for justice, poverty & sovereignty of Pak. PMIK determination became stronger in this journey by facing various ebb & flow. Imran Khan is leading Pak through toughest times yet hopeful.”
