Ayesha, the owner of ‘The Ayesha Chundrigar Foundation (ACF) which is an Animal Rescue (Shelter), shared a video of herself in deep sorrow as she has been asked to move the shelter for the fourth time now and with 1500 animals this time.
She expressed disappointment towards the people and asked for help to move her huge setup to a new place.
In the video message, she emotionally said, “I have 1500 animals living with me right now and I have been asked to move shelter.
“Jo hamara abhi ka shelter hai yaha pr construction k regulations change hogae hain or wo keh rahy hain k ab koi solid construction yaha pr nahi ho skti” (The land regulations in this area have changed and a law has been implemented.
“The quarantine rooms I made for my animals and the clinics are not possible here now whereas I never wanted to turn any abused animal away. I always wanted to make sure that everyone has a home.
“So now I have to move on to a new place with 1500 animals and it needs proper planning.
“At least 20 animals come to us daily for rescue because the abuse of animals in Karachi is nonstop and I can’t stop the operations.
“At the start of ACF, I have already been asked 4 times to move the shelter in 11 years.
“We moved in every way possible in monsoon, in flood with 200, 300, and 400 animals but I didn’t give up and keep moving on.
“People were not happy that I was working with animals as I was giving food and blankets to the stray dogs. They beat my dogs and gave them poison. They had stolen my electricity and locked my gate door so that I would not come inside the shelter. I have been harassed, bullied and my team terrorized.
“I really want this to be the last time, I want Pakistan to make animal rescue centers for these animals to have a permanent home so that no one can harm them.
“I am very scared and very nervous please help me with this big move.”
