British High Commissioner Jane Marriott Friday called on Senior Vice President and Chief Organizer of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Maryam Nawaz Sharif at Raiwind, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In the meeting matters of mutual interest were discussed and Maryam Nawaz on the occasion congratulated Jean Marriott on getting diplomatic responsibilities in Pakistan with appreciating Jean Marriott's services in the field of counter-terrorism.

“Your appointment will strengthen the relationship between Britain and Pakistan”, said Maryam Nawaz.

She further said that Pakistanis living in Britain are playing an important role in strengthening the relations between the two countries.

In addition to further strengthening of the already developed close bilateral friendly relations between the two countries, further development of cooperation in the fields of environment, trade, IT, education and women empowerment was also discussed in the meeting.

Maryam Nawaz also appreciated and thanked the help from Britain for the education of girls and flood victims.

At the end, the British High Commissioner thanked Maryam Nawaz for expressing her good wishes.
