Qureshi handed over to FIA on three-day physical remand in cipher case

A special court in Islamabad has handed over PTI Vice-Chairman and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on three-day physical remand in connection with cipher “losing” case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Judge Abul Al-Hasnat Zulqarnain heard the case at Official Secret Act Court in Islamabad on Friday.
Qureshi, who was produced in the court after completion of his four-day physical remand, was represented by Shoaib Shaheen advocate while FIA’s special prosecutor Shah Khawar appeared in the court.
The judge pronounced the verdict which was reserved earlier, after which the FIA took Qureshi away.
Qureshi was arrested in Islamabad on Saturday last after the first information report (FIR) was registered on August 15 under the Official Secrets Act.
Former prime minister Imran Khan and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi were nominated in the FIR, while names of former principal secretary to PM Azam Khan and former planning minister Asad Umar were also mentioned.
