ISPR says security officials busy with clearance op when IED explodes in Kahan; Over a dozen injured in militant attacks across province

A series of bombings rattled Balochistan on Sunday, 24NewsHD TV channel reported. 

Five Pak Army soldiers embraced martyred in an IED blast during a clearance operation in the Kahan area of Balochistan, the military media wing said.

The ISPR said a team was busy with a clearance operation based on credible intelligence when the tragedy took place in Kahan, martyring five lawmen including a captain.

The martyred are Captain Fahad, Lance Naik Imtiaz, Sepoy Asghar, Sepoy Mehran, and Sepoy Shamoon, it said.

More than a dozen persons sustained injuries in separate terror strikes across the minerals-riched province of the country.

A grenade attack on Sabzal Road in Quetta injured four people including three women while another grenade was defused. 

A hand grenade explosion in front of the Sadar police station in Hub left three persons injured. 

Another similar attack in the Satellite Town of Quetta injured eight people including 3 police. 

Grenade blasts in Khuzdar, Quetta, Turbat and Kalat have also been reported. However, no major loss was reported 

Condemnations 

President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the blasts. They paid tributes to the martyrs and prayed for the departed souls.

In his statement, the president heaped praise on security forces for their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. PM Shehbaz paid homage to the fallen heroes and stressed such strikes cant shatter the country's peace resolve.

Federal Interior Minister Rana Sana, FM Bilawal Bhutto, former president Asif Ali Zardari, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, Balochistan CM Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo and other key figures condemned the terror strikes. They reiterated their anti-terrorism resolve. They prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
