Different sections of motorways were closed due to dense fog in Lahore and other parts of the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to the motorways police, Motorway (M-2) was closed from Lahore to Kot Momin.
Lahore-Multan Motorway was closed from Faizpur to Darkhana, and Lahore-Sialkot Motorway (M-11) was also closed due to fog.
Motorway (M-4) was closed from Faisalabad to Abdul Hakeem, and Motorway (M-5) was also closed from Sher Shah to Rohri due to heavy fog.
The motorways police said that the motorways had been closed for the safety of the public and to ensure safe travel.
The motorway police spokesperson advised the motorists to use front and rear fog lights on vehicles.
He also advised them to avoid unnecessary travel and speeding and keep a proper distance from other vehicles on roads.
“The motorists can contact helpline 130 for information and assistance. Information can also be obtained from Humsafar App of the motorway police,” he added.
