Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi congratulated the Christian community on Christmas Day, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
In his message, Mohsin Naqvi said we are equal partners in the joys of the Christian community.
Mohsin Naqvi said the festival of Christmas is a symbol of love, peace and brotherhood.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi further said Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) preached the high values of tolerance, love and compassion.
He said the teachings of Jesus Christ were not focused on one class but on the entire humanity.
All minority communities in the country have complete freedom in every way, Federal Interior Minister said.
Mohsin Naqvi said the role of the Christian community in the construction and development of Pakistan is beyond doubt.
The Constitution of Pakistan is the guarantor of the protection of the rights of minority communities, Mohsin Naqvi said.
Today, along with happiness, it also sends a message of respect for humanity, Mohsin Naqvi said.
Mohsin Naqvi said Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah kept the white color in the national flag for minorities and it is our duty to protect the rights of minorities.
All minority communities in Pakistan enjoy complete freedom in every way, Mohsin Naqvi said.
I pray that Christmas brings more successes for the Christian community, Mohsin Naqvi said.
Mohsin Naqvi meets Vatican ambassador
Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi met with Archbishop Germano Penemote, the Ambassador of the Holy See (Vatican City), in Islamabad on Wednesday.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest and bilateral relations were discussed.
The Interior minister also apprised the ambassador regarding his visit to Vatican City. Mohsin Naqvi extended Christmas greetings to Archbishop Germano Penemote and expressed good wishes for Pope Francis and the Christian community.
He stated that his meeting with Pope Francis in Vatican City was extremely pleasant. Mohsin Naqvi praised Pope Francis’s services for social and economic justice and humanity and commended his efforts for peace in the world.
The Interior minister said that his visit to Vatican City and meeting with Pope Francis are still fresh in his memory.
He highlighted that Pope Francis took a courageous stance on the Palestine issue, which was appreciated by everyone.
He emphasized that there is an excellent opportunity to further enhance relations between Vatican City and Pakistan.
He underscored that exchanges bilateral delegations will strengthen the bilateral relations.
