Four persons died and nine others sustained multiple injuries when a jeep plunged into a ravine from a height of 2000ft in Sural area of Tehsil Judba in mountainous Torgahar District on Tuesday.
The dead included two children and a woman while their identity could not be ascertained immediately.
According to police and health sources, the jeep was on the way to Thakot from Jia Shangaldar Banda. While negotiating a sharp turn, the driver lost control of the steering as result the jeep nosedived into the deep ravine. Rescuers rushed to the spot and carried out the rescue operation. The rescuers pulled out the bodies and injured and shifted to local hospital. However, due to lack of facilities, the injured were referred to Butgram hospital.
