What could be termed a big breakthrough in talks between the Punjab government and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over holding Pakistan Super League-8 (PSL-8) matches in Lahore and Rawalpindi, the former has agreed to give Rs250 million, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The decision was taken at the meeting of the Punjab cabinet in Lahore on Saturday.

Quoting its sources, the channel reported that the cabinet had decided that the PCB should pay the remaining Rs250 million which would be spent on making arrangements for the matches.

The provincial government will again hold talks with the PCB officials today.

Earlier, the Punjab government had asked the PCB to give Rs500 million for the purpose, but the latter gave only Rs50 million, sources concluded.

However, after the meeting with the PSL franchises, the OCB has decided to shift the matches to Karachi.
