CM Naqvi holds farewell meeting with beat reporters

Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a farewell meeting with beat reporters on Saturday, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.


The reporters paid tribute to the chief minister for his hard work to ensure better public service delivery and expressed gratitude for RUDA scheme.


Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said he wanted to do more for the journalist community.


He expressed regret for doing nothing for the education sector and removing encroachment.


“I pray for the success of Maryam Nawaz Sharif. I am sure Maryam Nawaz Sharif will perform better than me as the chief minister,” he said.


The outgoing CM added: “It is incorrect to compare caretaker government with any political government".


Counting his government’s feats, he said: “We are leaving behind a Rs 900 billion surplus budget besides the regular budget in Punjab.


"We have paid off the outstanding Rs 600 billion debt for wheat purchase.


“More than 104 hospitals upgraded and over 130 roads repaired.


He said he would rejoin the media after leaving the CM Office. 


“There was a great desire to undertake substantive work for the media friends,” he added.


Mohsin Naqvi said his team achieved the targets with courage, determination and hard work.


Provincial minister Aamir Mir and officials concerned were also present.
