Dense fog disrupted daily routine life in Punjab plains and cities on Tuesday as continental air prevailed over most parts of the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) said M-4 motorway from Gojra Interchange (180 km) to Pindi Bhattian (288 km) has been closed for all kinds of traffic due to the dense clouds of smoke.
However, the M-4 motorway from Sher Shah to Abdul Hakim has now been opened for all types of traffic.
Motorways SSP Syed Hashmat Kamal said M-2 and M-3 motorways (till Darghana) were also closed for all kinds of traffic.
As per our correspondent, dense fog also reduced visibility to zero in Shakkargarh and Kartarpur, Narowal district disrupting the traffic flow at New Lahore-Sialkot-Muridke road.
Pakistan Meteorological office said that weather remained cold and dry in most parts of the country, however, rain with snow occurred in Kakul, Balakot, Ziarat, Bagrote and Kashmir on Tuesday.

Situation in Murree
Moreover, snowfall on Murree hilltop stopped after it continued for last three days and now local authorities are conducting the road clearance operation.
Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Noor ul Amin Mengal directed all concerned departments to clear the Murree link roads to facilitate the coming tourists as well the local residents of the hill station.
