Different parts of the country including Islamabad, Jhelum, Gujranwala and Lahore received showers on Wednesday. While snow and sleet continue pounding Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, cutting off road link of many hilly areas across the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In Kalam, 6 feet of snow has fallen so far blanketing everything in white.
The everyday life and communication system have almost come to a standstill in Azad Kashmir which has been lashed by rain and heavy snow for the past several days.
The land routes have been closed in Pir Chenasi, Koh Makra ans Saran due to heavy snowfall.
The sole road which connects Lipa to Reshian is closed.
All the land routs in Upper Neelum have been closed from Keel.
Thousands of people living in these areas have been trapped due to closure of roads.
The State Disaster Management Authority Azad Jammu & Kashmir (SDMA) has advised people to not undertake unnecessary journeys in view of inclement weather.
Meanwhile, different areas in the country including Islamabad, Jhelum, Gujranwala and Lahore received showers today.
Drizzling has been continued in Lahore since last night which has turned the weather even chillier.
The temperature of the city was recorded 12 degree Celsius.
There is rain forecast for the next 24 hours in the city.
According to the Metrological Department forecast, weather will remain cold and dry in most plains of the country on Wednesday.
However, there is a possibility of rain and snow in the mountains in North East Punjab, Islamabad, Potohar region, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
Weather in the last 24 hours Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Punjab and Kashmir received rain and snow in the mountains. In other parts of the country, the weather remained cold and dry.

Snowfall (inches): Kalam 21, Malam Jabba 17, Mir Khani 08, Chitral, Dir 04, Drosh 03 and Murree recorded 02.
The minimum temperature recorded today: Leh minus 14, Kalat minus 09, Gopus, Skardumin minus 07, Kalam minus 06, Zhob, Parachinar, Quetta minus 05, Hunza minus 04, Murree, Panjgur and Astur recorded minus 03 degrees Celsius.
