The disappearances of Pakistan International Airlines crew went up to another level as an airhostess became the first PIA crewmember in 2024 to go “missing” in Canada yesterday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

According to a PIA spokesperson, airhostess Faiza Mukhtar, posted on PIA’s Toronto flight PK-781 from Islamabad. The woman who allegedly slipped away had to perform duties on flight PK-784 from Toronto to Karachi, but she did not turn up for duty.

Faiza Mukhtar's alleged disappearance came to light after she did not report with the crew for the return flight.

Earlier, in the year 2022, five crewmembers went missing while in the year 2023, seven PIA crewmembers slipped away on overseas flights.

PIA has not even been able to bring back any of its crewmembers till date and most of PIA's staff have landed in Canada, said the spokesperson.

However, departmental disciplinary action has been initiated against Faiza Mukhtar, the PIA spokesperson said.

Through the affidavits of airhostesses with the administration, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) will also be contacted for action, the PIA spokesman concluded.
