British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott has said that boys and girls have equal right to education, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The British High Commissioner released a video message on the Internation Education Day.
Marriott said that boys and girls have equal right to education so that they could fulfill their dreams.
She said inclusive quality education is important for peace, development and breaking the cycle of poverty.
Marriott said that about 26 million children are out of school in Pakistan and those who are in schools are also receiving inadequate education.
The British High Commissioner said that since 2014, the United Kingdom (UK) has directly supported 5.8 million children in Pakistan to get better education.
“Happily, this journey continues with government and development partners”, the British envoy said.
She said access to quality education is the right of every child.
On World Education Day we pledge to ensure this together, Marriott concluded.
