The caretaker government has formed a five-member committee to review the cases of enforced disappearances in the country, sources from the Cabinet Division said on Wednesday.
The committee will be headed by the Minister of Law and Justice and will include the Minister of Defense, the Minister of National Heritage and Culture, the Minister of Human Rights, and a legal expert or a representative of human rights organizations.
The committee will submit its report and recommendations to the federal cabinet within a month, sources said.
The Ministry of Interior will provide secretarial support to the committee.
The committee was formed after the previous one, headed by the caretaker interior minister, failed to make any progress on the issue of missing persons, sources added.
