A former additional commissioner of Faisalabad was reportedly kidnapped on Saturday when he stood in the way of the robbers who barged in his house in the Satto Katla neighbourhood of Lahore and robbed his family of valuables.
Former Faisalabad additional commissioner Malik Khadim’s family has submitted an application to Satto Katla Police Station for registration of the First Information Report (FIR) against the unidentified robbers-cum-kidnappers.
According to the complaint received by the police, six to seven robbed barged in Malik Khadim’s house on Friday night, held his family hostage and collected jewellery, cash, mobile phones and other valuables from the family. Malik Khadim drew robbers’ wrath when he put up resistance during the robbery. Robbers first beat him up and then whisked him away.
Cantonment SP (Operations) Dr Ghayyur Ahmad Khan said the incident was being investigated. He said that Malik Khadim’s family reported the incident to the police 5-6 hours after it took place. He said that a case would be registered after completion of the initial investigation.
