Stressing the need for negotiations between the government and the PTI, the party Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said on Saturday that these were the best way to bring down the political temperature in the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, he said that the PTI had shown large-heartedness by sitting with the government at the negotiating table despite reservations. “The government did injustices to us. It stole from us the mandate, which the people had given to us in the February 8 general elections. Former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi were handed prison terms,” he said, adding that Imran Khan had set only two demands for the talks.
“It was the party’s demand that the government announced the formation of a judicial commission before January 16,” the PTI chairman said, adding, but the government did not show any signs that it was serious about meeting the party’s demand.
“If commissions were not to be formed, should we have sat with the government committee only for the photo sessions?” he questioned.

Also on Saturday, PTI leader Salman Akram Raja said that the government was not serious in talks with the party because it wanted to sweep the truth under the carpet. “In this situation, the dialogue cannot continue.”
He said that Imran Khan would announce the party’s future course of action.
