Popular TV host Mathira has broken the silence over the harassment she allegedly experienced at the hands of Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, the entertainer known for his viral hit Bado Badi.
The incident occurred during an episode of Mathira’s 21mm Show and has since sparked an outrage online. Behind-the-scenes (BTS) footage of the incident was shared on social media.
In the video, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan can be seen crossing professional boundaries, leaving Mathira visibly uncomfortable.
The footage has triggered a widespread debate about personal space and respect. Many pointed out how unusual it was to see Mathira, known for her confident personality, feeling uneasy.
Mathira said her bold public persona does not allow anyone to disrespect her boundaries.
“Yes, I am a bold personality, but that does not mean I would let you hug or touch me if you see me.”
The outspoken host condemned sharing the BTS video without her consent, saying, “This was really bad because people shouldn’t make videos like this without permission.”
She added: “None of the show crew posted that video, and we even requested its removal, but to no avail.”
Mathira said she has learned a valuable lesson about treating people with kindness.
Chahat Fateh Ali Khan’s appearance on the show, initially anticipated as an entertaining exchange, has now been overshadowed by the controversy.
The incident highlights the need for greater awareness of professional ethics and respect, with fans rallying behind Mathira and calling for accountability.
One viewer remarked, “Chahat’s behaviour was completely uncalled for. He needs to understand boundaries, especially when interacting with women.”
Another added, “I’ve never seen Mathira feel this uncomfortable before. She’s always so confident, but here it looks like she just wants to get away.”
