The prices of liquor and beer have risen for the second time in the last two months following increase in excise duty, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In this connection, Excise and Taxation director general issued the notification on Monday.
According to the notification, the price of each cane of beer has risen by Rs140, while an increase ranging between Rs150 and Rs400 has been registered in the price of each bottle of liquor.
Last time the prices had been increased in June.
The notification further read that every year there will be 15 per cent hike in the prices of these items.
Bar owners had been directed in the notification to sell liquor and beer to the permit holders at new prices.
