Section 144 has been imposed across Punjab and Islamabad to prohibit processions and protests, citing security concerns, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Interior Ministry’s notification said that public gatherings, rallies, sit-ins and protests are banned from July 26 to July 28.

The capital administration has warned that any violations will be met with strict action. "Violation of Section 144 cannot be allowed under any circumstances," stated a representative of the District Administration.

The Islamabad police force has been deployed to ensure compliance, and citizens are urged to avoid participating in any illegal activities. "The administration will ensure the implementation of the order across Punjab," the notification stated.

Similarly, the Punjab Home Department has announced a province-wide enforcement of Section 144 from July 26 to July 28. Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure empowers the district administration to issue orders in the public interest that may place a ban on an activity for a specific period of time.

Opposition parties have announced to hold nationwide protests on Friday. PTI leader Asad Qaiser yesterday announced that people across the country would protest on Friday (July 26) for the release of all political prisoners, including party founder Imran Khan.

PkMAP chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai, who also heads the opposition alliance known, said the alliance was planning a major protest this Friday for the release of political prisoners. He had claimed that JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman would also attend the protests.
